FAQs

FAQ’s
Q. Are your reviews biased?
A. Our Perth restaurant reviews (or reviews of any other place or product) are not skewed. All restaurant reviews are based upon that particular dining experience, so if we have had a bad experience, we will mention it. If it is a good experience, we will mention that too. We also do not review any restaurants that are owned and/or operated by people who we know personally, unless otherwise stated, to avoid any kind of fake reviews.
We fully disclose any product like a book or a cookware product on our own terms so that we can provide real and honest opinions.
Q. Can you review my Perth restaurant /cafe / bar / pub?
A. You may email us to request for a review, however this does not mean that we actually will get around to reviewing your venue. We do enjoy learning about new places to eat, drink, or hang out, but there are no guarantees that we will write a review on the Wandering Gourmet blog.
Q. Can we advertise with you?
A. Yes, you can advertise with us as long as you aren’t trying to buy us. As in, we will still need to be able to give real restaurant or cooking reviews.
Q. Where are you based? You seem to write about heaps of places that aren’t in Perth?
A. While we are primarily a Perth-based food blog, however we do blog about other cities and countries depending on where we are travelling to. Angie is based in Perth and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Penneigh is based in Perth.
Q. Why did you start the Wandering Gourmet food blog?
A. Angie started this blog in 2006 to avoid being fired. The CEO of the first company that she worked for issued an ultimatum that all employees create and write a blog by that Thursday, otherwise the CEO would have a stern word with us. Needless to say she didn’t want to start off on the wrong foot! After this, it just spiralled into the Wandering Gourmet club and then just as a personal outlet for food blogging.
Q. What camera do you use?
A. It depends on the blogger. Angie is a Panasonic Lumix fan and has one bottom range point and shoot model and one waterproof point and shoot model. Penneigh uses a Canon point and shoot.
